Tonal Balance

I have them set up as Blown Out, Balanced, Plugged.

I'm going to admit, I spaced a little on this project, so it was a good thing we only had four pictures to do. Admittedly, these are SO NOT the best pictures I've ever taken, but with that said, I want to explain why on some of them. I wasn't going into this with the mindset of having really good photos; I went into with the idea of setting. I knew that when I plugged up the blacks, that the mood would get darker, and when I blew out the whites, the mood wouldn't necessarily get lighter, in fact it would get harsher, like the sun on a really, really clear day. So I took a few shots that would detail those changes. Hence, the clustered buildings, and the (I know) centered picture of the trees.
I did like this assignment, though. It was really neat to see just how the mood can be changed with the lighting.
Is it just me, or do the blown out pics look like they've been taken during the flash of a nuke?
